Great Grand Masti is a 2016 Bollywood comedy film directed by Indra Kumar. It is the third installment in the Masti film series, after Masti (2004) and Grand Masti (2013). Plot
The film follows the misadventures of three married friends, Amar (Riteish Deshmukh), Meet (Vivek Oberoi) and Prem (Aftab Shivdasani), who are bored with their mundane lives and seek some excitement. They decide to visit Amar's ancestral mansion in a village, where they encounter a beautiful but mysterious woman named Ragini (Urvashi Rautela), who claims to be the owner of the mansion. Ragini seduces each of them in turn, but they soon realize that she is actually a ghost who wants to kill them for their lustful sins. The trio then tries to escape from her clutches, while also dealing with their respective wives and a vengeful police officer.
Review
Great Grand Masti is a film that tries to be a comedy of horrors, but ends up being neither funny nor scary. The film relies on cheap jokes, vulgar dialogues, crass humor and over-the-top performances to elicit laughs, but fails miserably. The film also lacks any sense of logic, plot or character development, and resorts to clichés and stereotypes to create conflict. The film is an insult to the intelligence and sensibility of the viewers, who are expected to laugh at the same old jokes and gags that have been done to death in the previous films of the series.
